Welcome to the home of the Ukrainian Golf in Melbourne, Australia. It was officially formed on 26 February 1988. To promote and foster the game of golf within the Ukrainian community and in so doing, further the friendship and fellowship with other Ukrainian organisations and clubs. That time of year had come around again when we from Melbourne met with our fellow golfers from Sydney for the annual challenge. This year it was held in Albury NSW.

The course was in very good condition and the weather was bright and sunny not a cloud in the sky on both days. For those that met on the Saturday to play for the pennant that was introduced  last year they received a taste of the course. The Sunday Melbourne vs Sydney Challenge was played in great friendly spirit with good healthy, friendly rivalry between the states as all events between Victoria and New South Wales have been like this for over a century. And on this occasion I have to congratulate the Sydney Golf club on their victory of the perpetual shield — I believe  that it is now 13 wins for Sydney and 13 for Melbourne. A great night was had by all at the presentation that was held at the golf club bistro  where a large number of partners and wives attended. Melbourne Challenge and we are awaiting details from the Sydney club as to a new venue and a change of season  for next year.

5 it looked like a serious competition was to be contested. The first four players all hitting down the middle of the fairway some 200m or more. It showed the rest of us it’s not all that hard a game? For some, this meant the start of a great round, for others it was all about hanging in there. With some fantastic shots to be seen alongside hilarious ones, the heat was being turned up in each group, with it all to play for. Most players felt confident they had done their bit to contribute to the winning team, even though most stableford scores were below handicap, it was still a great day out. Todd Farmer the new Interstate Champion.
